about

My good friend Lee Todd Lacks introduced me to Golden Brown in 2008. When played by strings the song has an almost Baroque sound. At one performance an audience member asked me if the song was based on our arrangement, rather than the other way around! On the other hand, two elements less likely to be found in the Baroque era are the shifting time signatures and the somewhat psychedelic, drug-influenced vibe (the song is allegedly about heroin).
